Default value from URL by GET method

Hi guys,
I’m wondering whether it’s possible to define in Dropdown select a default value based on a parameter from the URL. I’ve found some threads regarding this and if I’m right I can do that by clicking Show values and setting{get:*}, right? So I have a few questions:
1. Should it be{get:*}or e.g.{get:name}.
2. Should this “value” be called as a slug or doesn’t it matter?
3. Do I need to define any variables first?
4. Is it possible to define a default value coming from URL when Auto Populate by Post type is set?Cheers.
