i am using the brute force log in..i changed the url to the log in page….how do i disable the plug in ? thank you

Hi, if you enabled Rename Login Page did you type the following on the browser address bar [www.yoursite.com/secretword]?

If you did and you still have issues login in or you can’t remember what the secret word is, follow these instructions to log in.

– FTP to your host and rename this plugin’s folder for example all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall-old.

That will allow you to log back in. Once you are logged in rename back the plugins folder to it’s original name. Go to Brute Force and disable the Rename Login Page or make some other changes.

i am def on the right seceret word….do i need to ftp ? can i use the file manager ? i have never fpt files before…

Yes you can use File Manager in cPanel.

so i disabled the plug in and as soon as i activated i didnt go to the dashbord i went to my secret word login page..put in the current name, password, and correct number and pressed log in and the page willl load but it won’t go to the dash board.

Are you logged in while carrying out this test in the same browser? Did you go to a different browser and typed the URL I mentioned above with your secret word?

yeah..i have been using in the same browser…..just tried internet exploer and i still didn’t log in…..my sub domain has the same secret word and it logs in fine..

i have the pug in installed on my sub domain with the same seceret word and it looggs into the dash board when i fill out the log in form

Can you let me know what is the difference between your sub domain and this site you are having issue with?

Can you give me an example of the URL your enter to log into your sub domain and the URL you enter to login into the domain with the issue without revealing any private information.

the sub domain loads…th emain page doesn’t load

Can you deactivate and delete the plugin on the main page. Then can you reinstall and activate the plugin again. Carry out another test.
