i had been battling with this for a long time now. the reason why i needed it desperately is because all my post had to be in tables.

Note: I have not worked with multiple sheets so for now just one sheet display now matter how big.

    Solution:
once u have an excel file ready go to <SAVE AS> under file menu and save it in .html or .htm format.

go to the file, right click it and click on <OPEN WITH>

    choose notepad.

any code written before the <head> tag just delete that and copy the rest by Ctrl+a.

go back to write page and click on Code just type in Ctrl+v. click save and ur done.`

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have spent many hours trying to find an easy solution for getting Excel spreadsheets into my posts – this is it!!

On the Mac I had to open the .htm file with Script Editor. Very simple cut and paste after that.

    Hi rexskies
I tried this, works great, except the table ends up with about 5/6 ’empty’ lines above & about 2/3 ’empty’lines below. Nothing jumps out at me that would explain this. (HTML rookie) I have Excel 2007.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Only format the cells you want to use. This will force Excel to ignore all of the other cells in the sheet when you save it in .html mode.
