Post to display only a “snippet”? Possible?
-
Hi all,
The WP installation is on my test site at https://www.chrisbartlett.net/bi3/workshops/
As you can see, I basically only have one post so far. Now, I am building this site for a friend’s non-profit and the reason I’ve used WP is so they can post their own content without bugging me constantly to do it statically. And they are thrilled about this. But here’s my issue (what they want)…
Obviously, you see the whole “knitters” post. If you click the title you go to the single post page. Duh. Basically I want to keep it all the same, except that on the main WP page, I only want to display to the end of “When: Friday, November 7th & Saturday, November 8th, 2008“. Then you would obviously be at the entire post…
Does that make sense?
In other words, if they make a huge post (like this “knitters” one, I only want a snippet displayed, then have a link for the user to click in order to get the entire post.
Is this possible in the built-in admin? If not, is there a way to hack the code to do it? I’d appreciate any help.
Thanks!
Chris
