WordPress Plugin Update suddenly asking for password

    All out of the blue all my WordPress installations hosted with different hosters are asking me for FTP credentials for updating them.

    Why?

    Has there something changed with the WordPress configuration on one of the last updates? If one of my customers whats to update some plugins, do I have to give him the FTP credentials?

    No, you won’t have to give him the details. you will just need to chown the files to the www-data again. i also had this issue after updating.
