The site is Half-Volley.com
I have managed some workarounds, but they are not very efficient. To demonstrate the problem I’m having, I’ve created a menu called “troubleshooting” where you can see what I describe below.
The objective of the site is to provide contact information and schedules for tennis players who compete socially in groups made up of players who are at approximately the same skill level.
Within SportsPress, after entering all of my players and events, under the Events option, I created a calendar. Under “layout” on the right hand side, I chose “list” and “update.” When I select “view calandar” I see the page as expected with all of the events listed. I created a page in WordPress and added the event calendar to the page via the “Add Widget” function associated with the Plugin “Page Builder.” When I visit the site, instead of seeing the event list as it appeared when I selected “view calendar” I see a calendar as if I had selected “Calendar” under the layout options. If I change my selection to “Blocks,” the third option, I see the expected blocks if I use the “view calendar” option, but once again when I visit the real site, I see the Calendar layout.
While troubleshooting, I noticed that if I include a link to “view all events” and select that link, I can then view all of the events in the list format that I selected under the SportsPress Layout options. If you try this under the troubleshooting menu I’ve created, you’ll notice selecting this link calls up the “Harrison Calendar” which includes the events I specified in the format I selected. I should point out that all of the events that are displayed are actually part of the Harrison Group – which is what it should be. So, as a workaround, I created a custom menu in WordPress and copied the URL from the HTML “view all events” link on the page. Now, when a user selects “Harrison” under my “Calendar” menu, they get the correct layout with the correct data.
Another related problem is that under my Troubleshooting Menu, if you select the calendar error demo, you’ll once again see the Calendar layout. To re-iterate, this calendar is being driven by events from the “Harrison” group. However, if you select any of the days (all Thursdays) that they are playing, you will not only see the Harrison matches, but every match in the entire database that is being played on that Thursday night. Also, the format is the default format from the template rather than the full width format that I specified. In contrast, if you look under the Calendar menu at “Eady” and select one of the Saturdays that matches are scheduled on in this group, you’ll see a much different presentation. However, if any additional matches are scheduled on this day, the format will revert to the black & white text with all matches from that day regardless of which “competition” they are associated with.
In any event, if you have any suggestions or ideas, please let me know.
