Dyad front page is black

The problem is that if I delete featured on top of the page and if I want a static one photo only, the front page is going black and I see only the categories and the description only.

It seems to works only if featured is enabled.

@cztaki73 — Do you mean you don’t want the featured images to show on the front page? Or not on the posts pages? You may be able to hide one or the other with custom CSS. If you’d like help with that, please clarify where you want the images to show up and not show up, and I’ll see what I can come up with! ??

@lelaurent — I took a look at chatthelocalsmtl.com and am seeing your featured images on your front page as expected now. Are you still having an issue somewhere? If so, please reply with details (and links to screenshots might be helpful too). Thanks!

i dont want the featured images to show on the front page.
i want only a selected image to the front page and after that when you scroll down you see all the posts .
Now i cant do it.
Something has to do with Jetpack ………..plugin….

Featured Posts
Dyad displays Featured Content in a slideshow on the blog and the static front page. Add posts to the slideshow by picking a special tag — for example, ‘featured’ — and assigning it to the posts you want to display. This special tag can be set in the Customizer, in the Featured Content tab.

If no posts have the Featured Content tag, Dyad will display the Custom Header Image (if one was uploaded) and tagline instead.

On static front pages, the theme will check to see whether a Featured Image has been assigned to the page. If the page has a featured image, the front page will display that instead of the slideshow. If no featured image is assigned to the page, the front page will display the Featured Content slideshow (if at least one past has the Featured Content tag), or fall back on the Custom Header Image for the overall site.

@cztaki73 – Hi! Thanks for more information on what’s going on! The theme developer was able to identify the issue and has submitted a theme update to WordPress. Once the theme update is made available on www.remarpro.com, this will no longer be an issue.

Until they approve the update and make it available, you can make an edit in your theme file to fix it on your site with these steps:

– Go to Appearance > Editor.

– Open the filed called content-custom-header.php (it’s part of`template-parts).

– Line 23 has this:
<?php if( ! empty( get_bloginfo( 'description' ) ) ) { ?>

– Change your line 23 to this:
<?php if( false != get_bloginfo( 'description' ) ) { ?>

– Save.

(Note: Normally it is not recommended to edit theme files directly this way, but since this is for a theme fix that will be updated, it’s okay to do this once.)

Now you can go into Customize > Header Image and choose to display a Header Image, instead of the Featured Posts Slider, if you would like to.

Version 1.0.8 of Dyad is now live on www.remarpro.com and should fix the header issue above.
