Hi, i installed a slider plugin and on the homepage where the posts text should be previewed, the tags of the plugin are showing. Any way to edit that?

    my site: https://10bestones.com/

Check how the first post’s preview looks.

    Thanks

  • This is one of those times I wish one could easily share screenshots. I tried to reproduce your issue with Mac Firefox 44.0.2 but failed to reproduce it. If possibly, could you find a way to share a screenshot to better point out the problem? Moreover, what browser(s) are you using to view the site? AND, are you logged in? Oh, and if so, if you log out can you still reproduce the issue?

P.S., As always, it’s best to eliminate any idea of a 3rd party conflict. Thus, try deactivating ALL your plugins at the same time AND temporarily switch back to the default Twenty Fifteen theme and see if you can still reproduce the issue.

P.P.S., Also be sure, aside from using a different browser, the completely wipe your browser(s) cache and then test again to see if the issue remains reproducible.

Ah ha! I was able to reproduce the issue using Mac Chrome 49.0.2623.75 (64-bit).

The text on the first post spewed:

    /******/ #huge_it_loading_image_4 { height:287px; width:400px; display: table-cell; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle; } #huge_it_loading_image_4.display { display: table-cell; } #huge_it_loading_image_4.nodisplay { display: none; } #huge_it_loading_image_4 img { margin: auto 0; width: 20% !important; } .huge_it_slideshow_image_wrap_4 { height:287px; […]

Rather than an image and summary text.

The issue is also reproducible in:
    – Win Edge 25.10586.0.0
    – Mac Safari 9.0.3
    – Mac Opera 35.0.2066.92
    – AND Mac Firefox 44.0.2 (not sure why it didn’t reproduce the first few times I tried it!)

So, good, it doesn’t look like the issue is a specific browser related issue.

Fixed it by just adding excert, thanks ??

As for what’s causing the issue, I’d do what I suggested above and temporarily deactivate ALL plugins at the same time as well as switch back to the default WordPress theme and see I could still reproduce the issue.

If I could, that would mean the Plugin is most likely misbehaving and certainly warrants you contacting the plugin’s author with Steps to reproduce and screenshots. That is, rather than you mucking around with some bandaid fix it would be much better — for the longterm — to get the plugin fixed.

If I could not reproduce the issue once I deactivated all the plugins and switched back to the default theme, then I’d reactivate one plugin at a time, as well as the theme, to see which 3rd party plugin(s) and/or theme is causing the conflict/bug.

Have fun and have a great weekend!

Fantastic news! I just retested using Mac Firefox 44.0.2 and Mac Chrome 49.0.2623.75 (64-bit) and could NOT reproduce the issue. ??

P.S., I’d still let the plugin’s author know what happened. There might be something they can do in a future version that would prevent folks like us from hitting the bug.
