use images in the orginal ratio of height and width

I would like to have the pictures in the right proportion. Is that possible? The original size is 960 by 720 pixels, and when the picture is upload there is created also other sizes, 768 by 567 pixels and 100 by 75 pixels.
I do not want to use 600 by 600 pixel etc. because this incorrect ratio of height and width, then I miss a part of the image. I like to use the original images or better the 768 by 567 pixel images
Please help me. Because it is a great plugin, but now with the pictures in the wrong ratio, it isn’t usable.
