• Hello James,

We’ve been using your plugin on kirstyelson.co.uk for a while now but we’re still seeing multiple purchases when we place one-off items in the shop.

We think it’s happening when customers go to checkout via PayPal and either they leave it too long when in PayPal and are still able checkout after the time limit or they have problems paying or some other issue.

We had the plugin running on 10mins to checkout, then 30 mins to checkout and now 60 mins to checkout figuring the longer the better. Even on the 30 mins to checkout we had one occasion when 3 customers bought the single one-off item!

Either way, we are very nervous about adding anymore one-off items incase there are more multiple purchases and irate customers.

We did read a suggestion on github and wondered if you had fixed this or had any plans to do so in the very near future?

We also wondered if using a different payment gateway which happened on-site and not offsite (PayPal) would help.

Any suggestions much appreciated as we are not sure how to proceed at the moment.

    Many thanks in advance.

Sorry I have not had a chance to dig into this yet, lots of other paid projects I’m working on. It is on my todo list to look into it though.

Thanks for getting back James, could we turn it into a paid project for you? Appreciate you’re very busy and this isn’t a priority but if a budget helps then perhaps we could add towards it. If not possible, please would you be able to let me know? Many thanks.

I’m always happy to take donations, there is a paypal link on this plugins main page.

I did spend some time this afternoon looking into this issue and it does differ from the currently open issue on github.

In the interim I would set the expiration time to 3 hours, which is how long before a paypal token expires. I have a couple sessions open right now to see what exactly is going to happen after 3 hours, it’s been a long time since I’ve tested this situation out.

I wish paypal had a way to set an expiration time, but that just isn’t the case. In the future I can add an option to adjust all of the items expiration time to 3h whenever someone proceeds to checkout with paypal.

I just committed a change that will allow site owners to adjust the behavior a little bit.

I haven’t made an official release yet, still want to do a bit more work on it.
