    Hello there,
I’m using the plugin on 4.4.2 and basically it neither displays the thumbs after clicking on the save crop-button, nor does it save them in the filesystem. I doubt it’s a permission bug since the wp-content/uploads-folder belongs to the apache-user. PHP-Version is 5.3.10.

    Regards

hi, sorry, i do not see your question earlier. Do you have a solution already?

Generally speaking: If you were able to upload the image (on this server), the plugin should be able to crop it.

Note that you using a outdated PHP-Version (should be working though).

Hi, having the same issue with the latest update. Investigating… previous version worked beautifully.

    Hi blitz999,
do you change any server configuration?

Not when I updated the plugin. Although… I’ve just discovered it works on localhost, just not on the live site. I/m not sure yet what the difference is – same plugins etc. Do you think it might be php version?

    Are you able to

    1. upload new images?
    2. crop the new uploaded images?

I am able to upload new images. When I click on crop thumbnail, the crop thumbnail overlay opens. But when I select a thumbnail size, select the area of the image I want cropped and click on “crop”, it is still the same image section as before.

    hi tom96,
is the thumbnail unchanged in the site and also in the crop-thumbnail overlay?

    (@tom96)

exactly, clicking the crop-button does nothing. Neither in WordPress default thumbnails, nor in custom thumbnails. The uploads directory belongs to the apache user and the plugin doesn’t throw any error. If needed, I can upload a video showing what exactly I’m doing

Hi, I’m also having the same issue.

New images are able to be uploaded, but when using the CROP THUMBNAIL button the selected crops aren’t being saved as normal. The size and aspect ratio of the image remains the same.

Any hints on how to fix?

You’ll see several thumbnails that have failed to hard-crop on the events page. https://smsa.org.au/events/

    Thanks

Sorry for letting the topic slip,

@sydneymsa what browser do you use?

Let’s try to get that debugged:

    1. Get the ID of an image
    • Go to mediathek and open an image
    • You should see something like that in the URL : ‘wp-admin/upload.php?item=162‘ in this case 162 is your Image-Id
    • Open the follwing URL with the spezific image_id: ‘[your-domain]wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=croppostthumb_ajax&image_id=162&viewmode=single
    • You should now see the Crop-Thumbnail window
    • Open the development-tools of your browser (STRG+SHIFT+I in Firefox and Chrome)
    • Refresh the page
    • in the Tab “Console” are there any errors displayed? Please copy the content of the Console and post it here.
    • If you try to crop are there any errors poping up?

    hallo? Is the problem found?

    Hi Volkmar,
First of all: Thanks for this great plug-in!

    I had the same problem.
I use this plugin for a slider in the template NIRVANA. (works fine on other sites)
Because jetpack was attached to this particular website, it gets its images from wordpress.com…. So the URL for the slider image was: https://i1.wp.com/%5Bmydomain%5D/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/klant_centraal.jpg?resize=1920%2C600

Removed the Jetpack connection…. And now it works perfectly!

    Hope this helps others.
    Cheers!
