    Hello,
i use the EU VAT assistant plugin.
We sell a dvd in the online shop and the customer can choose between Download and DVD shipping.
I add as option DVD | download and set two variant one with shipping and the other (download) as virtual.
But the plug-in calculate and changed the foreign VAT also for the DVD shipping product.
    I think this wrong.
I hope someone an reproduce the problem and fix it.
    Thank you
    Manfred

The EU VAT Assistant doesn’t charge or calculate VAT, that is done by WooCommerce. Our plugin simply collects the VAT data calculated by WooCommerce, **after** it is calculated.

To fix your issue, you will simply have to create two separate tax classes for your digital and physical products, and assign them, as appropriate, to the variations.

    Hi Diego,
    thank you for the reply.
I create a two new tax class digital full and digital reduced and assign to the virtual article.
Then i change the standard tax class and set to all countries to the german standard tax 19% and the reduced tax class to the german tax 7%.
If i add an article like a book, which we will ship and virtual article like a download to the basket and the customer is from an forgin EU country for example Spain. The VAT is displayed correct now
    (includes €10,06 21% ES VAT, €3,37 7% DE VAT)
but the entries in the basket are still wrong.
It still display the correct price for the book 29,00 Euro but the price for the virtual article is still 57,00 Euro and not 57,96 Euro (incl 21% ES VAT) and the subtotal is €86,96 (correct).
    Any idea to fix?

If the tax calculation is incorrect, then it means that the tax settings are incorrect, or that there is something else interfering with such calculation. The presence of our plugin doesn’t make any difference, you will see that the error will still be there if you disable the EU VAT Assistant.

I’m afraid that I can’t determine the cause of the issue without conduncting some investigation, there are too many factors that could influence it. As I explained earlier, the tax calculation doesn’t depend on the EU VAT Assistant, it’s all done by WooCommerce itself, therefore we can exclude our plugin from the possible causes.

If you need assistance reviewing your settings, we can do that for you as part of our consultancy services. If you wish to avail of such services, you can contact us directly, using our dedicated support portal.

To proceed, we will need the following:
    – The URL of the site
    – A temporary account to access the backend, so that we can review the tax settings.
    – One or more “target” products to check, to determine what calculations should be performed.

The more details we receive, the easier will be for us to determine the cause of the issue and provide a solution in a cost effective way.
