Photon changed all my website thumbnails

I’m afraid you’ll have to disable it for good, as Photon won’t work for you, it wasn’t designed to work that way.

Photon works with the original image, and creates multiple resized versions of that original image to match the size requested on your site. It consequently can’t account for custom cropped images.

Hi Jeremy, I understand that.
But by default, the way I see, wordpress default thumbnail to my website are the “pre” croped squares from the main image. For example, I upload my main image as 1150x400px and wordpress will automatically crop and create different sized squares from it, and use each size when needed.

So in my upload folder I see the main image and the other resized and cropped imaged as well.

Now with photon I still upload the main image, the same size and way, wordpress still create those auto cropped squares BUT, the code shows that photon is using a custom crop from the actual main image, not a better version of the already cropped (by wordpress) images.

Was I clear about that? If photon load the better version from the already created square by wordpress would be wonderful.

I read you explaining about some code changes in other posts, bur not actually to something like this.

I’m afraid Photon wasn’t designed to work that way. And since you’re manually editing each image, it can’t be solved with code. You give each image custom cropping paramaters, that Photon does not know about.

I’m afraid there is no real work around this.
