Firstly, feel very free to tell me this is too much work. My coding knowledge is pretty minimal.

Your thumbs have helped me rate Uranus better than I had could have ever dreamed.
Since I’ve seen my dreams become reality, I want more. Call me a bloated american, but I can see it and I want it. I want to create a second categorized blog page that rates burritos in San Diego, CA. I’m sure that you can tell that both discussing Uranus and rating these burritos is virtuous and valid work.

Is it possible the create a short code command that can identify one [thumbs-rating-buttons] as belonging to a list=A, or something? and then a [thumbs_rating_top list=”a”] call? Again, my coding knowledge is meager in comparisons to yours, so if this is not possible, I thank you for a great plugin.

Not sure I fully understand your question.

Remember the shortocode already supports categories and post types.

Ah, yeah, the category: ID (default = all) call is perfect.
My question then is, how do I code the button shortcode [thumbs-rating-buttons] to make the buttons for a specific category?

You don’t have to make the buttons for a specific category. The buttons are linked to the post, it doesn’t matter what categories they’re in.

ah, i got it. The button is placed on a post that is categorized and the tops list then calls the categories. My apologies for my wordpress noobness.
