hi, i’ve uploaded and activated both wp-email and wp-post ratings plug ins but neither seem to be working? i couldn’t get them to work on version 2.3.2 either. i assumed it was because i hadn’t upgraded but still the same problem. i am quite new to all this and i’m not sure if theres maybe something more i have to do in order to get them to work other than just activate them? they also both come with widget plug ins too, nothing changes whether these are activated or deactivated?

i’ve also uploaded and activated the stumbleuponit and sociable plug ins. these 2 plug ins work fine but only show on the single post pages and not on the home page. i was wondering how i can get them to show on both?

the url is https://videomongrel.com if anyone wants to have a look?

    any help appreciated

    thanks, Jamie.

hey i worked out how to put sociable on all the pages so thats cool, thnaks.

however i’ve had an absolute disaster trying to sort postratings! in the read me it said find “<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>” and add “<?php if(function_exists(‘the_ratings’)) { the_ratings(); } ?>” anywhere below it. now i’ve got no idea about coding so just put it right underneath it. that was fine but the stars ended up right above the video. so i thought if i paste the code below some other lines a bit further down it might move to below the video. whats actually happened is the home page is mutilated. i’ve no idea how to get it back to normal either. i tried puting the index.php file back in as it was again but that didn’t work. i then deleted postratings plug in completely, that didn’t work. then i uploaded postratings from scratch again and activated it, still not working.

if you can tell me what i’ve done wroing and how to fix it i’d really appreciate it.

    thanks, Jamie.

what is the path you upload to? Different themes have different way of displaying the loop so the instructions is very general.

You should always try an error

i’m not sure what you mean by what is the path i upload to? does that mean like wp-content, themes, ProSense-Grey, ProSense-Grey, index.php? thats how i got to the file i changed.

also not sure what “you should always try an error” means either?

    appreciate your help though.

i’ve deleted the theme and reinstalled it so its back to normal.

edit: i know what file i’ve to edit in order to get the postratings plug in to work but i just don’t know where exactly to place the code in order to get the stars to appear under the post instead of on top of the post.

can anyone help? can anyone also tell me what it means to try an error?

    thanks, Jamie.

trial an error simply means edit the file, upload and see if you like it, if you do not like, just keep doing that.

    path refers to wp-content/plugins/email/ etc
