Where to find reliable reviews of themes? Any particular themes you like?

I am shopping for templates to use on a self-hosted site. I’ve had mixed results in the past when buying from themeforest, woo themes, and template monster. It’s hard to know with review sites whether they are legit or just shills for the companies they’re recommending. Does anyone know of a non-affiliated site with legitimate reviews of template providers?

I’m also open to suggestions from those who have bought and had good experiences with specific themes. Which ones do you like? I’m looking for something simple to be a small marketing site for an attorney, but she does not love most of the templates that are attorney-specific, nor do I need something with a million widgets or e-commerce. Totally open to suggestions. I have a short timeframe and need a reliable theme and, hopefully, responsive customer support.
