Footnotes numbering starts with 3 instead of 1

That’s is odd – I have never seen this issue before. Can you ensure you have the shortcode formatted right (use the “code” tab in the WordPress editor) and that you don’t have extra empty shortcodes at the top of the page?

Can you post the entire contents of your page – when you switch to the “code” version of the editor – into pastebin.com and post the url to your paste here?

I see you have a bunch of other shortcodes in there – et_pb_column etc – what plugin or theme are those coming from? I think the interaction between those and this plugin may be the issue.
