Add ons or Customization?

    I am providing the website maintenance my client and they LOVE your calendar plug in. They are interested in finding out if there are add on options to get the following functions:

    Ability to:
    – make an event go across a multiple days
    – choose bold or different fonts to make events look different
    – have it start the week with Sunday instead of Monday

    I would like to know which add ons they will need and if not needed, where I would go to make those changes.

    Thanks for reaching out! I’ll address the features one-by-one because they’ve all got slightly different answers:

    – make an event go across a multiple days

    • This is already possible within The Events Calendar, which is the free and core plugin. You can have a start date today and then set the end date hours, days, or weeks in the future; the event will span all of the appropriate days just fine.
    • If you are asking for one event that happens only once per day, but several days in a row, then this event configuration is a “recurring event” and yes, our add-on Events Calendar Pro provides recurring event features.

    – choose bold or different fonts to make events look different

    • This is unfortunately not possible without writing custom CSS ?? This is true regardless of choice of add-ons and such.

    – have it start the week with Sunday instead of Monday

    • This is possible with the default, free core version of The Events Calendar! ?? This is actually just a “general WordPress” thing –?head to Settings > General in your site’s wp-admin, and there will be an option called “Week starts on.” Whichever day you choose here, our calendar will adapt to it and will use that option.

    Follow up questions. With the CSS customization for the bold/font changes – will it be possible for me to set up an h3 or h4 tag that could then be used within the functionality of the calendar and be easily adjusted from the event editor (like you would the WYSYG within a post) – or will custom CSS need to be applied manually for every entry?

    Also a follow up – here is a link to the display of a test event spanning multiple days. What we were hoping for was one highlighted block across all 4 days – here it looks like 4 days of one recurring event.

    Is there a customization that needs to be done to accomplish this?
