Multiple loops ahh!

Hi all.

(Currently, I have everything in a ‘theloop.php’ file)

I would like to achieve, using multiple loops, this on the homepage:

My problem is even when following the codex on Multiple Loops, it doesn’t seem to work. I get php errors – is this because I have a theloop.php file already? I tried replacing the call to theloop.php and putting the default ‘loop’ directly into index.php but it didn’t work.

Also, does anyone have any idea how I would, in basic form, code the multiple loops?
