I just underwent a lengthy hack cleanup and now no matter what plugins I try deactivating, I can’t get it to allow me to make new or edit previous posts. I noticed changing the themes will allow me to edit previous posts but still not allow me to create new posts.

I tried the re-install of 4.4.2 and had no luck there either.

Any other tips & tricks to try? Thank you!

I think there is some database related issue
but try same by disabling all plugins there must be some plugin related issue

The only Active Plugins that I use are: Akismet, Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall, Theme Check, and TinyMCE Advanced. Ive deactivated them all and nothing changes on the current theme 1.8.

Can you elaborate more on the potential database issue?

Do you have more that one Author or Admin in your Wp dashboard?

1 Admin (Me), 4 Contributors, and the rest are Subscribers (158).

Just me (Admin) on the Dashboard though.

I primarily use Firefox but I noticed that if I use another browser (Chrome, Safari) and change the Theme, I can edit previous posts but still not create a new post.

UPDATE: We replaced the WordPress default editor with an advanced one to fix the issue, also had to empty my cache and use a more up to date browser version to view any of these features. Marking as resolved for now…
