    Hi,

After installing and activating the plugin I can’t see the little eye icon button in the editor toolbar. I had the same issue when I tried to install the plugin which this plugin was built upon.

I have read similar posts here that advise on checking the Tiny MCE editor version. How do I check the editor version? Could there be something else stopping the button from appearing.

    Thanks

    Simon

I’ve never been able to reproduce any of the “button not appearing reports” ??

The version numbers listed are the ones listed on your installed plugins list. I’m currently running:

    TinyMCE Advanced
Enables advanced features and plugins in TinyMCE, the visual editor in WordPress.
Version 4.2.8 | By Andrew Ozz

Sorry, just noticed it says you’re running WP 4.2.7? It could be that something has changed since that was released.

Unfortunately I don’t have the space / facilities / time to keep older WP versions for extended testing. I know it worked on 4.2 back when that was current, as that’s what I had.

Try v1.5.2 and the new “Media Bar” option for button placement. This places it above TinyMCE.

I seem to be having the same problem, I get this error message when I try to change the button placement to media bar or any of the other options. https://imgur.com/6puEUBH

I’m running the latest version of wordpress, and installed TinyMCE Advanced to see if this would help the situation, but it remained the same.

Happy to help you debug if needed. I like the look of this plugin.

Thanks, I thought that would be “the clue”, but despite replicating this by turning debug on to show warnings, un-installing and re-installing (to get the warnings), the button still shows and works.

This looks like a depreciated issue on the settings page, but they still save OK with debug off (and with it on for me). Obviously, in debug mode headers cannot be set after on-screen warnings have been outputted. But, with debug off or logged, you should still be able to save settings.

I’ll try and add something at the weekend to fix the depreciated issue, but still can’t reproduce the missing button.

Do you get any warnings when loading the editor/adding post?
