• I’m using a theme that has the Custom Header Image upload feature. In fact, I’ve tried several themes that have this feature, and they’re all having the same issue:

When I choose the image, and click the “upload” button, it takes a few seconds, and then most of the page goes blank. The dashboard is still present, but there’s nothing else on the page — no cropping screen, no nothing. Just white space. (The files are, in fact, being uploaded. They appear on my server, and I can see them and access them…)

This only happens, however, when I try to use an image greater than 150kb. When I use images that are smaller than that, the Custom Header Image function works just fine.

Any thoughts on why this might be, or where I can check for a solution?

  • try editing the image in the theme’s image folder.
make an image with exactly the same size and replace the original header image in the theme directory (use the same file name).

    hope it helps.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, you’re describing the traditional way of replacing the header image… But I want to be able to use the much more convenient “Custom Header Image” feature that’s available on many modern themes… Again, it’s working fine for small images (150kb or less) but not larger ones…

Why would this feature be limited to a certain file size… Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
