Hi Ethan,
The title fix extension has been made as a final solution towards a problem that shouldn’t be there in the first place.
The title tag is so extremely fundamental in HTML, I’m still wondering why themes ever got control over it.
So, there are a couple of reasons for why the title fix isn’t integrated in The SEO Framework:
- I do not want to support bad practices by default.
- The title fix extension won’t be needed for any www.remarpro.com theme published after August 2015.
- I’m not fond of options, especially those who can seemingly be experimental from the user’s perspective.
- It’s used as a last resort for when users can’t get it fixed themselves. I’d actually be much happier if the users were to ask their theme author to fix it, so everyone using their theme can benefit from the best practices.
- And the main reason: Its software relies on code that can actually cause problems in certain scenarios, which are very difficult to pinpoint. Putting it inside an external plugin will help alleviate and locate those issues easier.
I believe these reasons are sufficient for my decision ?? Cheers!
