"Detect browser language" doesnt work anymore!

  • Hello, I have three domains (.com/.fr/.com.ar for english, french and spanish). Before version 1.8 it worked perfectly, however now it doesnt allow me to redirect to another domain according to each visitor’s language. The feature now seems to be only available for subdomains or subfolders.

    what can I do? ??

    Since the 1.4 this feature doesn’t work with domains. It works only with the directory name or from the subdomain.

    Hi Chrystyl, thanks for the quick response !

    Since I already have the 3 domains.. is there a way I could manage to make it work ? maybe another plugin, or a short script ?

    I too have been struggling with this. “Detect Browser Language” simply will not activate when languages are domain-based (mysite.com, mysite.fr, etc).

    If “Detect Browser Language” isn’t supposed to activate with domain-based language settings, the developer needs to make that clear in the admin settings, like this:

    “Detect browser language – When the front page is visited, set the language according to the browser preference – Note: This features does not work with domain-based languages”

    However, if it’s a bug, can you please acknowledge that and indicate if/when you plan to fix it?
