Moving to a server

Hi,
I am going to be moving my site to its own server. Currently its on a shared host running unix. The company I’m looking at (Cari.net) offers dedicated servers that run Windows or various versions of Linux.

Is there one operating system that’s better than another for WP?

As my blog was originally configured on a Unix system, would a version of Linux be an easy move?
