• Hello!
I currently have a website on weebly. I created it almost 3 years ago when I wasn’t into the creating-websites thing. Now I learned about wordpress, I want to move my weebly site to wordpress, hosting it on hostgator. How am I supposed to do this?
Can it happen simply by going here: https://register.hostgator.com/ on the “Transfer Domains” tab, putting in my weebly website adress and then buy it?
    Thank you!

Will I be able to use that name on hostgator after the weebly website expires? Or I will have to follow the tutorial aswell?

I can only assume you’re referring to your domain name and not the free Weebly subdomain?

But going back to your initial question, yes you should “transfer your domain name” to Hostgator (as you’ve indicated) and pay for the transfer fee and if your domain is due to expire you can pay Hostgator the fee to renew the domain name.

Then once you’ve sorted out the domain issue, follow the steps from the tutorial link mentioned above re: Moving from Weebly to WordPress by WP Beginner.

    All the best!
