• I have been running some tests on my site using P3 Plugin Profiler to determine the impact of various plugins. Here is an overview:
    https://imgur.com/7OrzZIV

As you can see Enhanced Media Library takes up about 16% of the total load time. I was wondering why this is?

I really like your plugin as it helps me to organize images on my site and I am considering to purchase the pro version to help further development but I want to make sure that it doesn’t cause problems down the line. Especially if other users start to organize their media on the site maybe the total plugin load time will increase even more? Right now I only have about 20 images – so it’s a very limited archive ??

    Thanks again.

    Best regards,
    Michael

    Here is today’s performance impact:
    https://imgur.com/3V5feE6

My site now has about 40 images. So the plugin seems to create a bottleneck. I hope the perfomance of this plugin will improve in a future update. It’s definetly a good idea with a media library.

For right now and until the author comes back with a possible solution I will disable the plugin.

    Hello Michael,

Sorry for delay with the response!

I am really sorry, but P3 stats says nothing to me. I did some tests, each time there are two plugins active on my website (despite this, P3 Plugin Profiler says three plugins are active):

    (1) P3 Plugin Profiler and Enhanced Media Library:
    P3 – 0.0164 sec, 32%
    EML – 0.0355 sec, 68%
    6.5% plugins impact
    https://www.wpuxsolutions.com/downloads/images/P3+EML.png

    (2) P3 Plugin Profiler and WooCommerce:
P3 (it calls itself “other” in this case) – 0.0058 sec, 1%
    WooCommerce – 0.4561 sec, 99%
    48.8% plugins impact
    https://www.wpuxsolutions.com/downloads/images/P3+Woo.png

    (3) P3 Plugin Profiler and Yoast SEO:
    P3 – 0.0143 sec, 6%
    Yoast SEO – 0.2235 sec, 94%
    25.4% plugins impact
    https://www.wpuxsolutions.com/downloads/images/P3+SEO.png

My dev had 141 images and filter based gallery with 30 images. The most complete PRO version of the plugin was active.

What we have to conclude? And what we are supposed to improve?

    Best,
    -Nadia

    Hello Nadia,

    Thanks for looking into this.

    1) “I did some tests, each time there are two plugins active on my website (despite this, P3 Plugin Profiler says three plugins are active):”
Did you check to count for MU (Must Use) plugins? P3 Profiler counts active plugins + MU’s.

    2) P3 Profiler can give some insight into troublesome plugins and/or potential conflicts with other plugins. So I just wanted to make sure that EML did not interfere with other plugins. My tests seemed to indicate a potential conflict with another plugin and thus I was trying to determine if I should be concerned about this.

I might try to run some follow up tests to determine the cause of the increased plugin time when EML runs alongside other plugins.

    Best regards,
    Michael

    Michael,

We don’t have MU plugins on our dev.

You have mostly membership plugins active. I don’t have an idea how EML may interfere with them. I will take a look at it in my spare time. But right now it doesn’t look like an issue to me.

Please feel free to post any new information you may obtain.

    Best,
