• hello,

I just can’t figure out what is happening with the featured image of posts: I change it, it shows fine and then it reverts back to an old version that does not even exist anymore in the media library !
It really messes with my design. Help !

    Rhank you.

  • Hi,

Are you using any kind of cache plugin?

Can you please share the link or screenshot of the problem you are facing? It would help us in understanding the problem you are facing.

I just realized that maybe the theme is creating a cropped up version of the featured image of each post to put on top.
This is for instance one of those posts: https://mariannesouliez.com/2015/07/09/mourir-sage/
the image on top is not the featured image mourir-sage-slide-def.jpg (which is 120×550), but an image called mourir-sage-slide-def-1170×550.jpg

The weird thing is that just when I changed the featured image, it first showed full size in the post (which is what I want), and then the next time I went on the page, it had this cropped version instead.

If you find any sense in this, thanks !

It totally makes sense with the featured image. Most of the themes are now making such implementations where thumbnails get generated after a user visits the specific page. More like an OTA Thumbnail generation, this is why it loaded full image at first and then presented the cropped version.

I would say you need to take a look at your single.php file.
