Shortcode for easy searchform

If I understand your question correctly, the short code for the advanced search for is here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/valid-bd-shortcodes-2-1/ along with all other short codes available in BD.

If by “easy search form” you meant something like the Quick Search Bar at the top of the directory, that’s something we haven’t added yet but is high on our list of things to add in the near future.

When I add the search-widget in the dashboard to a sidebar, there are the options simple and advanced, I need the simple version as a shortcode.

My other questions are:

how can a user change the category of a existing listing ?

Why isn’t the preview picture preselected, in the editmode ?

Is it possible to place 1. step “edit information” and 2.step “edit photo” on the same site ?

Currently, our shortcode only offers the advanced form for search. We are considering adding another shortcode for a simpler search but it’s not available today.

Regarding your other questions:

how can a user change the category of a existing listing ?

Users aren’t allowed to change the category of a listing once it’s placed. The reason for this has to do with fees. Categories are associated to fees and if we allow categories to change after placement, users could place an ad in a free category and later edit it to get a paid category for free.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean here. Can you please show me a screenshot of what you’re seeing? Use https://imageshack.us if you have to.

Are you asking if the data and image editing can be placed in a single step? If so, currently BD does not support this. The steps are separate pages so we can add or remove them from the workflow easily.
