Donations and donors not updating

    Hi
    I have just started to use seamless donations and i have just put a transaction through paypal which all worked perfectly and then returned to the thankyou page. However i checked the backend and no donations or donors were stored in the backend. It just says no donations found. I checked the log on the plugin and there is a valid log showing the transaction however it has not updated the tabs. Do you know what may be causing this.

    It’s possible that PayPal never triggered the update transaction process. Can you look at your log? If you’re not sure about how to read the log, take a look at the PayPal tutorial video:

    Hi David
    In actual fact it does update but it seems to take an hour and a half to update which is a bit strange.

    I have noticed another issue though. Both times i have put a transaction through and ticked the box to say it is eligible for gift aid (UK) and both times on the donations panel it has come through saying uk gift aid ‘no’. I need the correct information pulled back in as i have to contact the government to get the gift aid back for all of the transactions marked with it so it is important to get the correct info. Do you know what may cause this.

    For gift aid, might be a CSS issue. For the other, go ahead and update to 4.0.14 and see if that helps.

    Please can you advise the kind of css issue you think this could be. It is the gift aid issue that is causing a problem as i have to claim the money back from HMRC and so need it logged in a correct manner, otherwise they will not allow me to claim the gift aid. How would CSS stop the correct logging of if gift aid has been ticked when the form is processed?

    I’m not sure. I haven’t gotten other reports of gift aid not registering. I have had people tell me they didn’t see the gift aid button, which is usually do to CSS eating its tail, but once visible, the results record automatically.

    The gift aid option is definitely showing on the frontend. I tick the box to say i am eligible for gift aid and then go through the paypal process and complete the transaction. When i look in the donation information however it says no against gift aid which is incorrect. It is pulling back the wrong info. Is it possible that if left unticked that it will say yes. In which case the wording on the gift aid question would need to be altered?

    It’s possible that something’s not showing. There’s a gift aid meta field (I’m not at my dev machine, so I can’t tell you its exact name). But go to one of the records that should record gift aid and get its id, then look in your post meta database and see if gift aid has been set.

    Do i need the session ID or transaction ID. Sorry i have never looked at databases before so want to make sure i get the correct one. Just for confirmation a value is added to the gift aid in the backend donations panel but it says No when it should say yes.

    You’ll want to look at the donation ID to see if it’s recorded in the donation. We could also go back to the session ID, but that’s not a postmeta value and is considerably more work to examine, so I’m not sending you there yet.

    Hi David

    I have been unable to figure out how to find this record.
    Everything is correct on the frontend as can be seen here https://caringcancertrust.com/caring-cancer-trust-donation/ . The gift aid box is there but if ticked it is just recorded as a ‘no’ instead of ‘yes’. Can you see any issues on the page?

    I’ve recorded the gift aid issue as a bug. I’ll work on it in a future release.

    Great thanks. Do you know when a new release would be expected as i have this on a live site so it would be handy to know if i need to implement something else in the meantime if it could be a long time.

    I am trying desperately to get back in the coding saddle, so I’m hoping to get a release out by the end of next week. I can’t make any promises given how insane things have been recently, but if we have a slow news week, I’m hoping to dedicate some real time to finishing 4.0.15 and releasing it.
