Adsense ads don't show – script appears in one line

  • Hi, apologies if this is old news on here. I read about thirty related topics before posting but i couldn’t find the help i needed.

    Basically i have a site built on wordpress, each page is unique so i have to put ads in the pages rather than in sidebars etc. I place ads in a text box – using text , not visual.

    the ads don’t display – I asked google, they told me that in source code the script is displaying all in one line and that ads will only work when the script is displayed as written. i can’t seem to find a way to make this happen.

    have an adsense plug in installed – that seems to make no difference at all. Can anyone advise me how to fix this please.

    I tried going into classic editor and pasting the code directly there – it worked for about 1 min then stopped – this kind of suggests there is something in the theme modifying the script.

    weird – works now , so i guess this is the fix – place the code manually using the classic editor..you’re welcome!

    However – i discovered that if you make any further edits to the page, – for example moving a text box about, or in fact if you switch back to the backend editor. the script reverts to flat and the ads don’t show, this strongly implies there is some overriding script in the theme making this happen, though it could be in the server. anyone got any ideas on that

    sigh, I’m afraid that the ads stopped working at all and the script has again reverted to a single line. I have no idea why this is happening. i spent hors updating script on multiple pages yesterday cos it seemed to work, totally wasted time. i could scream please help
