Post Types stopped showing, how to fix please

  • Hello, I have WP 4.4.1 and without making any changes for a few days, the post types stopped showing. I have regular, video and picture gallery and now when I try to create a post, it does not show any post type options. I check the Screen Options to see if it was unchecked but post type checkbox is also not showing there.
    I went ahead and updated the theme and reinstalled WP, I saved the permalinks as some people suggested in some forums but nothing.

    Is there a file or code that may have been affected, if so, where can I check to fix it please? Thank you for your help!

  • Hi, Jen, & welcome to the WordPress support forum. First, apologies for the slow response. Sometimes, as volunteers, life gets in the way of being able to respond as quickly as we might like.

    Are you saying you’re using the Post Types Plugin? Might I suggest you try changing to one of WordPress’s default themes (2015, for example), & seeing if your post types reappear?

    Please let us know how you get on w/this.
