it gets too big and gets out of the theme and make it look very ugly

  • No need for plugin, just for common sense.
Do NOT upload pictures that are wider than your content area. It is that simple.
Edit your images on your computer BEFORE uploading.

Do you mean you do NOT upload the images but you are linking to other people’s images on the net?
    That is stealing!

Aside from the moral issues of hotlinking other people’s images, use the height and width attributes in the image tag to manually change the size of the image.

Generally, I don’t agree with that advice: you can shrink a 2MB pic to be shown as 120x120px… but that is not very userfriendly.

[On a sidenote: I reserve the right not to help users who do illegal, not just immoral things.]

I’m going to take the pie-in-the-sky stance that the images are CC’d ones from flicker.

The usefulness of the tags is very limited, but the OP will figure that out very quickly if they try to resize large images to small ones. Just getting the right proportions consistently is going to be irritating.

[I’d rather someone hotlink my images than copy them because I can easily find out if the first is happening and stop it.]

GUYS,i’m not doing illegal stuff or stealing or hotlinking

is uploading an image to photobuckt is hotlinking ??:S

You just need to follow the advice and specify the height and width attributes in the “img” tag (show the post in the “code” view when editing.) Although the results won’t be that nice, and will be rendered differently depending on the browser.

I would amend the pictures on your PC, then re-upload to photobucket.
