uploaded plugins but don’t show in management?

    i’m new to everything wordpress (and anything to do with building websites) and am having trouble uploading my wordpress plug ins. i used filezilla to upload 6 plug ins and only 2 of them seem to have actually made it (they appear in the plugins management area whereas other 4 don’t). i checked the ftp again and according to that all 6 have been transferred.

    These 2 show:
    did you pass math
    stumbleupon-it

    These 4 don’t:
    sociable 2.0
    vipers video quick tags
    wp post ratings 1.20
    wp email 2.20

    it could be something simple but i really am learning everything as i go so any help is gratefully appreciated, cheers.

    I’m gonna quote thewritersmanifesto:

    Did you install the plugin in the right directory? Sorry to ask but often we tend to overlook these things?

    Also, you want to make sure that it doesn’t sit in a double folder e.g.
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/pic_lens/pic_lens

    It should only be the one folder of your Plugin. Also, some Plugins only need the actual .php file uploaded, not the folder especially if there is only a .php file within.

    hi jane, thanks for the reply. it turned out the ones that didn’t work were in double folders, i’ll look out for that in future.
