Pre Sales Question

  • Hi there,

    I have been reading over your web site and the documentation here. The plugin looks awesome!

    I have currently using Rackspace’s Cloud Files to serve up some static images, but there is no real sync between my WordPress and the files on Cloud Files. So I have started looking into AWS S3 (and Cloud Front) which lead me to your plugin.

    I have a couple questions. I see in some of the documentation that the plugin (not sure if it is the Pro version only, or if the Free version does it as well) supports other CDNs. This is done by adding the CDN url. Cloud Files does give me this, but I am not sure if it will work as Cloud Files really does not have a file structure as S3 does. Have you ever tested it with Cloud Files?

    Do any of the Add ons work with the free version? Or do they require the Pro version?

    I see that the licenses are based on image uploads (which is fair). But how does the plugin, or Delicious Brains for that matter, know I am reaching or have reached my limit? Does the plugin send data on usage to your servers?

    The Assets add-on, is there a limit with this license? I.E a limit on how many assets can by uploaded?

    Lastly, are there limits on the Free version in terms of uploads?

    Sorry for so many questions – just trying to figure out what best suites our needs.

    Nope, we haven’t tested CloudFiles. You can certainly use S3 with most CDNs.

    The addons are only available with a license.

    The pro plugin periodically counts the number of attachments in your media library and sends that number to our server.

    No, there is no limit applied to the Assets addon and the files it uploads to S3 don’t count toward your license limit.

    The free version has no limits on uploads. To be clear, the pro version does not add limits to any of the free version’s features. It only places limits on the additional features you get with the pro version.

    If so, then the limit of the Pro version is only to uploading images that are already in your library?

    Our media library is very small, only a handful of product images. So the Pro version would only count those files towards the license? Or would it cant all subsequent media library uploads?
