SMTP password

I am having trouble getting Easy SMTP to work. I have the latest version, and I keep getting an error SMTP Connect() failed. What I notice is that when I try to change the SMTP Password, it does not appear to update at all. I have changed servers, ports, Authentication, etc with no change.
