Password protected downloadable product

If you don’t use the ‘redirect’ download method in settings, only purchasers will have access to download links making passwords not needed ?? Passwords are less secure – they can be shared.

But i want to use password protect products. I want the same process as i explain above. Is there any solution for this?

WordPress lets you set a password – its in the box with the publish button.

yes i know. Its in publish option from where i can make it password protect, but i think you are not getting me. Listen i am explaining again. As all my products are ebooks so these are downloadable. Each ebook will have random password. In simple words i want to generate a password for every ebook when user get paid. And this password will be mailed automatically to user. And he will download this file by using that password.

Right; thats going to require something custom built.

As I said, we protect downloads with access checks rather than passwords in core. If you need a different system for some reason, you’d need to build that part yourself. Perhaps try jobs.wordpress.net.

The ability to protect products with unique passwords that can be emailed to consumers helps secure the products. At the same time it helps prevent abandoned carts and lost business due to people who just don’t want to go through with creating logins.

Any updates or advice would be appreciated!
