Migrating xprofile from Buddypress to UM

By now I’m convinced that UM may be a better solution to offer community functionality to my readers than Buddypress which I have used for almost 2 years.
However, now that it’s time to migrate users from Buddypress I found there’s no easy way to port users’ info from BP to UM, apart from the WordPress default info, and the user image which can be copied using the tool built in with UM.
I have 5500 users, and about 3000 have filled out a biography field in Buddypress which is saved in the database as a Xprofile field, as well as a few other fields like ‘country’ and ‘Youtube url’.
UM support told me there’s no official plan to make it easier to migrate such content. I found a plugin that will export Xprofile fields (into a csv or excel sheet), but I’m lost at how to import this into UM. Anyone has experience with this?
