Content collapses into one paragraph in Edit Page, but looks fine on Live Page

    Hey Guys,

    I just ran into something I haven’t seen before, and its only effecting one of my sites. In the backend of WordPress > Pages > Edit Page all of the content I have typed gets smashed together into one large paragraph after I leave the page, or switch between text & visual modes. The good thing is all of the paragraphs are working fine once I hit update and view the live page, but it is really bugging me seeing it like this in edit page mode. I’ll attach some screenshots to show what I mean.

    I discovered that if I do go into text view and I add the <p></p> tags, update the page, then switch back to visual it will show the paragraph breaks again. But up until now I have not had to do that on any website or page. I’m hoping someone can help? Thanks in advance!

    Does this issue persist with the latest version of WordPress?

    Is there any other plugin that you are using which adds something on the default editor?

    Could you also try & see if this happens with other plugins deactivated or with the default WordPress themes like Twenty Sixteen, Twenty Fifteen, etc.?

    Hi Vishal,

    Yes it was in the latest version of WP. I did not have any plugin adding to the default editor, other than a gallery button, which I use that same gallery on other sites as well. I also found out that it wasn’t happening on all of my pages, only a few, which makes me think it was some transfer error while copy and pasting from a Word doc.

    Either way what I did is install the CKEditor plugin and now I don’t have the issue.

    I see. Yes, it’s possible that it could be some transfer error if it was only with some pages.
