Theme layout help

    My theme is this: https://demo.themegrill.com/colormag/

    No I would like to know how I make the squares on the home page? then when you click them it opens up the full story?
    Also once they become old how do I move the squares to another page?

    So my site is about reviews, I would like the home screen to have the big square with the latest review and the little squares the previous reviews, then as I do more reviews I would want the previous reviews to go to the review page & any videos I do go to the video page.

    I’m just struggling on how to lay it out like the demo.

    Any help would be great
