• I am trying to set up Easy WordPress SMTP for a new site and I keep getting this error. I know the password and username are correct as I have logged in multiple times with the credentials. I set it up to debug 3 and I get:

SERVER -> CLIENT: 534-5.7.14 Please log in via your web browser and 534-5.7.14 then try again. 534-5.7.14 Learn more at 534 5.7.14 https://support.google.com/mail/answer/78754

I went to https://support.google.com/mail/answer/78754 and none of the suggestions worked and I have logged in and re-sent the test email multiple times with the same error. I think the 534-5.7.14 means incorrect password but I am not sure. The password is longer than 12 characters and I saw that was a problem for some.

So I am trying to do this for another install and got a new error code:

SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at 535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/answer/14257

Again the url provides no help.

For the second error I got it to work with my personal email by going through steps to allow less secure apps through. Is there a way to make more secure requests?
