    Hi,

I have installed your plugin and set the order to random but I can’t see any difference on the frontend. Could you please describe what your plugin actually does, i.e. which “order” is changed? I thought it changes the date because posts are often ordered by date on the site.

I am trying to randomize the dates of all my posts of a certain custom post type.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

What the plugin suppose to do is to order your posts\custom post type\pages on the front end.
It doesn’t change the date of the posts, instead it (in your case), randomize them before retrieving the list of posts from the database. by default they will return from the database ordered by date as you said, with the plugin you can choose different order to retrieve.
If you mark the random option on the setting page, then you suppose to see your posts (or any other type), on a page that display them, i.e. category page, listed on a different order on every visit (or refresh) to the page.
I hope I understood your question correctly and helped with my answer.
If you still have an issue with the plugin you are welcome to send me a link or user and password for your admin, to my mail – [email protected], and i’ll take a closer look.

    Regards,

    Hi Uri,

thank you very much for taking the time to give this helpful answer.

I now understand the purpose of your plugin and in this case it’s not what I need. I need to change the actual dates because I am using custom posts which are used by a custom theme element, a portfolio grid, that sorts these items based on date. And apart from that, I don’t want them to be sorted randomly on each page load but I just want to shuffle them once and keep it that way. The problem is that I have many portfolio posts (>100) and sorting them manually each time would be tedious. ??

    Hi Nick,

Ok, I understand your issue. If it is for a custom theme element so the plugin can’t be helpful.
b.t.w. you probably know you can change the date on the post itself write? but, then again, it is manual action and over 100 posts to do it for is not fun ??

    Regards,
    Uri
