    Hi,

I currently run Newsletter Pro 4.5.6.1 with WordPress 4.3.2. I use server (linux) cron for scheduling email sending, using local server for SMTP.

Before that version, whenever I send a newsletter, I receive the cron email for every batch until there is no more email in the queue.

Since I’ve upgraded to 4.5.6.1 (whose release notes refers to work done with emails and queues), I continue to receive the cron email even when there is no more email in the queue. In my case, the schedule is set to 5mn so I receive 288 emails a day and the cron log is now full of entry like:

0 queued emails have been sent out
    0 recurring emails queued
0 autoresponder emails have been sent out.”

The emails services we are using are all enforcing a quota based on daily email sent, so for us these emails represent a waste of quota usage.

Could you look into fixing this regression in a near-future release?

    Best regards.
    R.

    Thank you for your post.

For Newsletter plugin Pro support, can you please use our forums https://tribulant.com/forums/ or help desk https://tribulant.com/support/

We are not allowed to support our pro version here unfortunately.

We look forward to your post/ticket.

This feature that you’re mentioning applies to the free version of the Newsletter plugin anyways, it is not specific to the Pro version. So I can answer here.

I’m adding this to our development list so that we can make sure the cron notification emails are only sent when there are actually emails processed in the queue and not each time the queue fires with no emails as well.

Let me know if this helps

    Thank you!
I did raise a support ticket anyway as it’s more a bug than a feature from where I stand.

A related feature enhancement would be the ability to set different SMTP settings for sending the newsletter and for sending system emails and the ability to turn on/off email sending at the level of each notification (or maybe the latter is already there and I didn’t see it).

Also if the graphs could make the distinction between system emails sent and newsletters sent rather than clumping them together, that would be great.

    Best regards,
    R.
