• Hi. I installed the plugin on our site and was working fine for several minutes. Then the site went unresponsive. Called HostGator to see what the problem was. They saw a massive amount of processes running in cPanel. They deactivated the plugin via FTP and the site returned to normal.

I think the problem may be related to the fact that I enabled the “Default Image” option. Is it possible that the plugin is trying to update every page wit the default image and is overloading the servers?

I did some further experimenting with this. I reactivated the plugin and the site started crawling again. So I deactivated via FTP, waited a minute and reactiveated and immediately went to Settings and removed the URL from the “Default Image” setting and saved. All is working well now.

Can you tell me what happens when the Default Image setting is enabled? Whatever it does brings our entire site to its knees.

No. It doesn’t work like that.

Can you please check if you also have the “Include Image size (og:image:width and og:image:height) tags” option active? Maybe there’s some problem with php trying to get your default image dimensions.
