    Hi there,

When I upload images, on some of them the meta data is successfully imported and on others, it is not. It seems random, although often when I retry, the same images fail to import meta even though the meta appears to be set up identically to the others.

    Any ideas?

I’m mapping title (which seems to work every single time) and keywords. When the keywords do import, they appear correctly. Why would it skip the keywords on some files in a group of uploaded files?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Thanks for your question. IPTC/EXIF metadata mapping can vary quite a bit from one image to another, depending on how values like Keywords are added to the image.

If you can post a link to one or more of the images that are not working as you expect I can investigate further. It would also help to know the details of the mapping rule you have set up for the keywords and any other fields you are having trouble with.

If you would rather email the images to me, send you contact information and I will reply with an address where you can send them. You can give me your contact information using the Contact Us page at the FTJ web site:

Thanks for any additional information or examples you can give me and for your interest in the plugin.

Thank you for working with me offline to resolve the IPTC/EXIF mapping issues with your images. As we discussed, the problem images had some unusual metadata added to them by very old versions of Photoshop and the Windows XP photo editor. I was able to modify MLA to handle these images and extract Keywords values in a usable format. The updates are in the current MLA Development Version.

I will mark this issue resolved when the next MLA version is released. Thanks again for your help with these enhancements.

I have released MLA v2.24, which contains the enhanced IPTC/EXIF/XMP parsing and mapping logic and works with the images you sent.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the new release.
