Can't send test email with either Gmail port setting

I’m using Gmail, smtp.gmail.com, I’ve tried both port 465 with SSL and port 587 with TLS.
Sending the test email just results in a ‘waiting for’ site message.
Eventually after about 1 minute I get this on the 404 error page: Oops! You tried going to https://www.kaputproducts.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=swpsmtp_settings, and we can’t find it – it either no longer exists or has been moved.
