Excevie Use of CPU Resources

  • Hello Dear WordPress support community, This is my first thread and i hope i will get valuable answers from the expert in this forum, and get my issues solved asap.

    My website justhi5.com is compromising with an issue, Bellow is the message i have received from my hosting company, Kindly let me know what i can do to solve this issue and and lift the ban from my account.

    Your account has been abusing CPU resources for an extended period of time and has been disabled in order to ensure continued performance stability of the account and server. While we do limit each account to no more than 25% of a system’s CPU in our terms of service, we do not actively disable accounts until they greatly exceed that number, which is what happened in this case.

  • Hi low,

    In general this kind of message can be done by 2 things:

    1) your site is making a huge traffic, more than 10 gb / month in just a week (which flags your host)

    2) your contact form is hacked in some way (if you use contact form from japanese it’s very hard – wp contact 7 – it’s a very secure form)

    3) If you use some custom php forms, make sure to plug it with a good captcha like recaptcha

    Hope it helps you troubleshoot issue,

    also if using a linux based server on debian alike, make a memtop

    or so to check cpu/ram/disk resource usage

    I am really new to wordpress and all these things so really don’t know what will be the issue in these 2 above mentioned..

    About my site’s traffic: I have 1500 to 2000 visitors per day, could this be the reason of this ?

    A small traffic website Wp should have around 256 mb RAM and around same cpu (512 mhz) in cloud to be fast. It’s done by manual. After if your traffic is big and so, it’s another issue.

    And yes, 2k visits per day is a lot. You might consider a good managed Worpress host, if no time for IT OR putting it on a cloud, like amazon. Because if your site is too slow for people, you loose audience. I suggest you make tests (free) with a good site called pingdom tools. Then see and check and decide.

    Can you suggest me any good (but still within budget) optimized wordpress hosting service, where i can move my site to.

    it’s difficult without making advertising, with is forbidden on this forum, like i said you can try on both solutions like doubling servers or fully going cloud (i go for example on red hat cloud with is in fact amazon).

    I understand it’s hard to trust me like that, no problem. I just add i made nice wp servers on a few clouds, good ones.

    RHEL is nice because very secure, for example.
