Static Intro but not a Static Front Page

Hi All,

Right now I have my blog set up so that I have a static main page, but this is not exactly what I am looking for.

Ideally I would like to have a static entry on the site, an intro about what information can be found within the pages and the blog. And then the blog entries will follow.

I am sure this has been covered somewhere but I have had no luck in my searches, unsure I am using the proper terminology.

Any help would be most appreciated.
