Since upgrading to the latest plugin version I’m seeing this error on most ecwid dashboard pages:

Warning: openssl_encrypt() [function.openssl-encrypt]: Using an empty Initialization Vector (iv) is potentially insecure and not recommended in … /wp-content/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart/lib/phpseclib/Base.php on line 1054

Any idea why or how to fix?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the report.

This message is a warning, which means it doesn’t affect any functionality on your site. Still, the fact that it appears is of course not normal. We will fix it in our plugin as soon as possible and will release a fix.

Meanwhile, you can consult with your hosting on how to disable warning messages on your site. That can be easily done on their side – in fact, most hosting providers disable those warnings to avoid such messages.

We will keep you updated on the problem.

    Hi,

We released an update. Can you please try the newest version (v 4.0.3)?

    Thanks.
