website doesn't load

  • Hi WebMasters,

    I have bought two websites. I have uploaded the wordpress contents and database to the hosting. I have double checked everything like, SQL database name, Database username and password in the config file. However whenever I load the website, It loads nothing but it prints the website name in the homepage. As like one of my website, https://9points.info Appreciate if anyone shed some light on this.

  • @masoodanees currently I’m just seeing ‘Error establishing a database connection’, which suggests either the DB does not exist at the location provided or the login credentials are incorrect.

    Hi James,

    Sorry about that, I was testing few things by removing the database and re-adding it. You would have checked at that time. I have re-added and everything is in place as how it was, however the issue persists as i was mentioning.

    FYI: you sit on one of the really bad hosting companies and your IP (shared apparently) is marked as hostile and malicious. See:

    @masoodanees, if you try the following it could help diagnose the issue.

    1. Switch the theme to something such as Twenty Sixteen (which comes with fresh installs of WP, give the site a whirl and see if that loads.
    2. If you’re still having issues it sounds like it maybe a plugin, so just deactivate your plugins temporarily, give the site a whirl and see if that loads.

    If neither of those work it could be worth setting up a test database and install at a subdirectory and seeing if the hosting handles a fresh install without any issues.
